Located at 1039 West Ave in Ocean City, NJ, Cinco De Mayo serves up authentic Mexican cuisine that resonates with locals and visitors alike. Reviewers rave about the homemade corn tortillas, which enhance the flavor of the tacos, particularly the chorizo and carnitas options. Many patrons praise the combination platters, featuring a delightful mix of tostadas, tacos, and quesadillas that showcase the restaurant’s commitment to freshness and authenticity.
Service is consistently highlighted, with guests like Cris Quinones and Matthew Ford commending server Charlize for her attentiveness. However, the cozy dining space can lead to occasional downsides, such as condensation issues mentioned by diners. Despite this, the overall ambiance is charming, adorned with vibrant colors and hand-painted murals that create an inviting atmosphere.

Delicious! Our server Charlize was great, very attentive and courteous. We ordered the combination platters, 1-steak and 1-chorizo. Come with a tostada, taco and quesadilla in your choice of meat. Also got the guacamole and salsa with chips. All very good, I will say the only downside was the atmosphere, restaurant is small which isn’t bad but the first table they at us at had condensation dripping on it from the A/C unit.

They earn the right to advertise authentic. Being from north Jersey and familiar with Latin food I was doubting this place but proven wrong. Fresh authentic and good. Will travel after this visit to come back.

Couple of blocks off the boardwalk- worth the walk. The chips and salsa were homemade and we enjoyed the entrees. The grilled chicken was very good and my husband enjoyed his Cinco de Mayo platter. We will definitely return at some point. Give it a try! Fair warning it's a relatively small location and it was busy when we went even for a Sunday night.

They get 5/5 stars for their tacos alone. 3 words — homemade corn tortillas. Skip the flour ones here! Pro-tip, eat the tacos IN the restaurant so those incredible tortillas have that little crisp on them. The tortilla will lose the crisp sitting in the styrofoam. The carnitas and chorizo were very good. Shout out to Charlize for being an accommodating server.

Another great place to eat in NJ. Everything was delicious. We had the fajita quesadilla, shrimp taco combo and taco salad. When they warn you that the red salsa is spicy they mean it! It was so good though. The service was great everyone was very friendly. And the atmosphere was wonderful with lots of color and some hand painted murals that are just beautiful!

We ate here one night for dinner while staying for a week. What a meal! we'll definitely return as we always return to OC every summer. My husband had the shrimp burrito and I had the Al Pastor which was really good. I was bit worried the pineapple would overwhelm the meal but it didn't! it's very subtle taste with great natural slight sweet taste. Our boys had the burritos from the kids section of the menu and it was quite good, but filling. Perfect for them. It's a such great clean bright spot with friendly service, and we were given complimentary tortilla chips with homemade green and red salsa sauces. Quite good, and my oldest gobbled most of it with red sauce!

Our go-to place for delicious Mexican dishes in OC. Small dining area. Put in your name and get a table in 20-25 minutes even on a busy Saturday. Good selection, we had Carne La Tampiquena, Beef Burrito, and Fish Tacos. All excellent and hearty servings.
